LegHook Modifications and Replacement Parts

IF YOU WANT TO EXCHANGE A PART:

If you've ordered the wrong size LegHook, or changed bassoons, or need the device modified, then we have an exchange policy.

If you send us the part that you want replaced, we will send you another option, and only charge for the shipping, but

WE MUST RECEIVE THE OLD PART FIRST!

Send an e-mail to:    sales@wincresearch.com     and let us know that you are sending a part for exchange.

If you want a second option, or you have lost a part, or want an addition to the LegHook (in case you have a half-dozen bassoons around), then you can order from the options below:

Replacement Regular Bracket (converts Fox to Regular size)

Regular Bracket     $28.00

Replacement Fox Bracket (converts Regular to Fox size)

Fox Bracket           $28.00

Some Heckel bassoons and some Moosmann bassoons have a very small neck strap ring, and our regular mounting screw needs to be smaller

Smaller Screw, Spacer, and Chain     $7.50

While most of our ordering is about fitting the bassoon, sometimes the arrangement doesn't fit the musician!  (After all, this is supposed to make performing and practicing more comfortable...)

This option raises the whole kit (and caboodle) several inches.  Some musicians are average height, but have long torsos, so they can't get the bocal and reed high enough.  This involves adding parts to the LegHook, so there is no exchange.

Height Adjustment (Larry Gardner Fix)             $28.00

Younger bassoonists, or height-challenged individuals will want a different "base cup bracket", which is the part that actually cups the boot joint.  This version attaches the curve at a higher point, which lowers the bassoon:

Base Cup                 $35.00

Finally, we have found that musicians are rightfully fussy about the positioning of the instrument, and some clients have objected to the angle of the bassoon as it sits against the leg.  Several have mentioned that the LegHook should "twist" around (clockwise) a little more to turn the crutch more in line with the right hand, as a seat strap does.  We feel that this forces more of a reach around the bassoon with the left hand.  While most people are happy with the LegHook as is, we aim to please.  This modification has a fold/bend in the curve where it meets the base cup bracket, which turns the bassoon (The angle is not shown in this picture)

Angled Curve             $20.00
